Lord Hanuman Jayanti on June 1, 2005

Lord Hanuman is the greatest devotee of Lord Rama. He is also called Änjanèya or as Vayuputra. Hanuman is believed to be amongst the first to chant the Holy epic Ramanama. He is the one who helped Lord Rama when He was in trouble. Lord Hanuman Jayanti falls on June 1, 2005. It is the staunch belief that those who pray for Lord Hanuman, atleast on these days, will have Hanuman come to rescue at times of need. Let us celebrate the occasion and seek His blessings.

Hanuman is the son of a cursed Apsara. Apsaras are the wives of the Gandharva’s, court servants of Indra. They danced to the music made by their husbands, usually in the various Gods’ palaces. In India, it is popularly believed that some of the outstanding Odissi and Bharat Natyam dancers, such as Medha Hari are the incarnations of apsaras.
