Moudyami Moodhami on May 10, 2008

Sukra Moudyami begins from May 10, 2008 to July 8, 2008 and again March 23, 2009 to April 1, 2009. Moodhami means dark. Ravi if having aspects with other planets, Graha war starts. As we are aware that Guru and Sukra are subha grahas. If these two planets moves close to Sun, this period is called Moudyami. During the period Moodhami, Guru and Sukra looses their strength. Hence, during this period no auspicious functions takes place.

Vasanta Navarastrostavams from April 7 to April 14, 2008

This day is also called as Holi Poornima, Kamuni Punnami, Vasanta Punnami. On this day, the Holika demon who was killed on this day is called Holi. On this day in the wee hours, Demon Holika will be burnt in the morning in flames. There are so may stories in this text. One such is according to Purana, Raghu Mahraju killed the demon Holika. After performing the same, people will take bath and celebrate the Holi irrespective of age, creed, color, caste and what not. Some texts says that Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi was born on this day. We get the blessing of Goddess in Phalgunamasam Poornima day by performing Lakshmi Upasana. If one wants to win over enemies, it is advised to perform Chandi homam on this day.

Nrusimha Dwadasi on March 18, 2008
