Importance of the month

Kaartika masam is considered to be the most auspicious month. The Lord of the month is Damodurudu. The pujas, homas, japas, donations and fastings performed during this month will give immense results. During this month, wee hour head bath and lighting of lamps are most important. During this month, the natives have woke up well before sunrise and after bathing wear rudraskha and vibhuthi and offer prayers to Tulasi plant. Daily fasting up visible of stars and those who cannot do, can at least be on fasting on Mondays, Ekadasis, Poornima or Amavasya thithis and those who too cannot perform can at least be on fasting on Kaartika Poornima day to get more benefits. It may be noted that visiting of Shiva temples and recitation of Kaartika Puranam is important. During this month, it is advised to donate Saligramam, silver, cow etc., according to their mite. Regular recitation of Vishanushasranamam is also advised to seek His blessings. Recitation of Lalitha Shashranamavali will get financial benefits. Day 1 - October 29, 2008 Wednesday

This is the first day of Kaartikamasam being Wednesday with Swati star. On this day, if offer prayers to Lord Agni for improvement of in all areas. It is advised to recite Damodaruni Stotram. This day, being Wednesday is very liked by Lord Vishnu and being with Swati star, it is advised to perform Damodara puja. It is advised to donate gold and ghee. Do not eat items made of onions, cold items on this day.

Day 2 - October 30, 2008 Thursday

This is the second day of Kaartikamasam falls on Thursday with Visakha star. The lord of the day and star also happens to be Guru. It is advised to offer prayers to gurus. On this day, natives have to offer prayers to Lord Brahma according to ancient texts.

Day 3 - October 31, 2008 Friday

On this day, to get rid of financial problems, the natives have offer prayers to Goddess Parvathi Devi. On this day, it is advised to donate raw salt. Do not eat items made of salt.

This is the fourth day of Kaartikamasam. It is advised to offer prayers to Lord Vigneswara. Donate oil and ghee.

Day 5 - November 2, 2008 Sunday

This is the fifth day of Kaartikamasam. This day happens to be Nagulachaviti. Natives have to offer prayers to Sarparajaina Adiseshu. Donate meals to a brahmachari (unmarried brahmin).

Day 6 - November 3, 2008 Monday

On this day, we have to offer prayers to Lord Shiva. Fasting is advised. It is advised to donate Vibhoothi and perform Rudrahomam to ward of negative effects. By performing this, the natives will witness improved financial position.

Day 7 - November 4, 2008 Tuesday

On this day, the thithi is Shashti and happens to be Tuesday. On this day, it is advised to offer prayers to Lord Subramaneyswara Swamy. On this day do not use any harsh words. It is advised to donate new dress material to a brahmin in a temple.

Day 8 - November 5, 2008 Wednesday

This Wednesday with Saptami Thithi. This thithi is very good for Lord Ravi. The lord of the day is Budha, the planet of Vaishanava. On this day, it is advised to offer prayers to Lord Ravi. It is advised not to eat items made of coconut and do not use hair oil. Donate wheat grams to a temple priest.

Day 9 - November 6, 2008 Thursday

On this Thursday falls with Sravanam star. This is the birth star of Lord Venkateswara Swamy. This star is also called as Vishnu nakshatram. Sravanam nakshatram if falls on Thursday, the prayers offered to Lord Vishnu, the natives will get their desires fulfilled. Natives are are adivsed not to eat items made of oil. Poor feeding will help you a lot.

Day 10 - November 7, 2008 Friday

On this day, natives have to offer prayers to Goddess Sri Lakshmi with red flowers. Wealth improves and money retains at your residence. Offer payasam as naivadyam to Goddess.

Day 11 - November 8, 2008

On this day happens to be Kaartika sudda Dasami, Saturday. Natives are advised to perform tailabhishekam to Lord Shiva on this day. It is also advised to perform Rudrabhishekam to ward off the negative effects of Shani. Donate Vibhoothi.

Day 12 - November 9, 2008 Sunday

Today is called uttadana Ekadasi. Lord Vishnu woke up on this day. Incidentally,the day's lord Ravi happens to fall on Sunday on which Ekadasi falls has something special. It is advised that the natives are advised to be on fasting on this day and offer prayers to Lord Vishnu. By reciting Vishshnorashta vimsaninama Stotra, the natives will get relieved of all bad karmas. On this day, feed a brahmin with food. Items made with salt should not be taken.

Day 13 - November 10, 2008

On this day Kaartika Monday, Chilukula Dwadasi. Natives have to offer prayers to Tulasi plant. Performing Mahanyasapoorvaka Ekadasa Rudrabhishekam will benefit the natives. Do not use hair oil on this day. At the sunset, light ghee lamp and recitation of Tulasi Stotram and Vishnu Stotram will benefit a lot.

Chilukula Dwadasi on November 10, 2008

On this day, natives have to offer prayers to Tulasi plant. Tulasi Damodara Kalyanam also falls on this day. Natives have to observe fasting on this day, offer prayers to Lord Narayana and give Tambulam to the ladies. By performing this vrata, the natives will get improved financial position, cordial atmosphere. On this day, the natives will light a ghee lamp at the foot of Tulasi plant. By performing this vratam, the doshas relating to theft of gold items, and be blessed with all material benefits by Lord Vishnu. Goddess Lakshmi Devi stays at the residence. Day 14 - November 11, 2008 Tuesday

By performing Kuja graha puja on Kaartikamasam Tuesday, the natives who are under the grip of Kuja dosha and natives of Mesha and Vruschika rasi natives have to donate red grams on this day. They have to donate 1250 grams of red grams. According to Kaartikapurana, it is also advised to donate black grams. On this day, fasting will benefit the natives. It is advised to recite angaraka Stotra and mantra to get more benefits.

Day 15 - November 12, 2008 Wednesday

The thithi on this day is called Vaikunta Chaturdasi. On this day, Srimannarayana leaves Vaikunta and offered prayers to Kasi Visweswara. Natives have to visit the Shiva temples on this day. On this day, Sivarachana has to be performed. Poor feeding is very beneficial to the natives. By lighting of lamps in Shiva temple, the natives will get immense punya.

Vaikunta Chaturdasi on November 12, 2008

Lord Maha Vishnu descends from Vaikuntam and offers prayer to Viswanadhu in Kasi. Due to Chaturdasi thithi, Vaikuntudu performs puja to Lord Shiva on this day is called as Vaikunta Chaturdasi. All the natives have to offer prayers to Lord Shiva on this day to seek His blessings.

Day 16 - November 13, 2008 Thursday

This day happens to be Kaartika Poornima. Deepadanam gives immense help. Donate silver, gold, Saligramam,godaanam have to be done according to the native's mite. Feeding also helps a lot. During the Sayasandhya time, light ghee lamps and according to ancient scriptures, it wards off financial troubles. Offer prayers to Lord Shiva with Bilva leaves. Kaartika Poornima on November 13, 2008

On this day, natives have to woke up in the wee hours and have to take head bath and also to observe fasting. According to their mite, they have to offer donations to the needy. The japa, Tapa etc., performed on this day gives Akshaya benefits. On this day, from the afternoon due to Krutika nakshtra period, natives have to offer prayers to Lord Subramaneyswara Swamy and by performing this, the natives will get Brahmin janma and Vaikunta prapti. For ward off the doshas, it is advised to perform annadanam and light lamps with cow ghee.

Day 17 - November 14, 2008 Friday

Both Padyami and Vidiya falls on this Friday. On this day Rahu Kalam is between 10.30am to 12.00noon. During this period, if the native lights Rahu Kala deepam in Durga Devi temple, natives facing hurdles in marriage or job front will ward off. Donate ghee or gold. Do not eat items made of Onions. Unmarried natives have to recite the following sloka and the couples if recite the sloka will have good cordial relations will prevail. The natives have to recite the sloka at least 1008 times.

Day 18 - November 15, 2008 Saturday

This day the thithi is Bhahula Tadiya. On this day, done jaggery to a temple priest to ward off negative effects. Offer prayers to Gowri Devi. Natives have to offer naivadyam to goddess with sweet items. Recite the following sloka at least 1008 times to get more benefits.

Day 19 - November 16, 2008 Sunday

On this day Arudra nakshatram falls. That is why this day is considered as arudrostavam. This day is very liked by Parama Shiva. Shivarchana is most important. By offering Sivarachana on this day, all sins will ward off. Donate black grams, oil. Do not eat items made of oil or ghee related items on this day. Parama Shiva born on this Arudra star. On this day, natives have to recite Shivanakshatramalika Stotra. The doshas if any in the natal chart will be nullified. Kaartikamasam Tuesday with Shashti is very pleased by Lord Subramaneyswara Swamy. On this day offer prayers to Lord Subramaneyswara Swamy. Offer milk abhishekam to Lord Subramanya Swamy on this day to ward off the negative effects of Kuja. Donate chimili along with food feeding to a brahmin on this day.

On this day happens to be Bhahula Ekadasi. Recite Bhagavadgita on this day. Do not forget to parayana of Bhagavadgita during Kaartikamasam. Offer prayers with the Tulasi leaves to Lord Vishnu. Fasting is advised. Donate silver, gold or Saligramam.

Day 27 - November 24, 2008 Monday

This is the last Monday during Kaartikamasam. On this day, offer prayers to Lord Paramashivsa with Bilva leaves and abishekam. Light a lamp in Shiva temple. Fasting is advised. Donate black grams. Chitta star falls on this day and the star being the janma nakshatram of Chitragupta. By reciting Chitragupta Dyanam, the sins made by natives will be minimized.

During this period, light Rahukaladeepam in Durgadevi Temple to ward off Rahu doshas. It will give immense benefits to the natives. Swati star also happens to be the birth star of Mahalakshmi. Day 29 - November 26, 2008 Wednesday

This day happens to be Masasivaratri. Visakaha nakshatram being guru graha nakshatram and the lord of the day is also Budha and both happens to be Vaishnuvule. On this day, offer prayers to Lord Vishnu. As far as Masasivaratri is concerned, the natives will get the blessings of Lord Shiva. By offering Sivarachana in the wee hours, the dosha will ward off. It is advised to recite Sivapanchakashri.

Dhanwantri Jayanti falls on November 26, 2008

Ayurvedaniki the root one is the incarnation of Lord Vishnu as Dhanwantri. He was born on this day. By performing Dhanwantri homam, the natives who are suffering from diseases will get relieved and apamruthyu nivarana .
