Edaikkadar is a disciple of Bogar and is considered as Incarnation of Lord Vishnu. According to sources, once when he was gazing Goats one of the Nine Mystics came to him and asked for food and he gave him food and worshipped. By the grace of God, he had the power to foresee the future. Once he thought that there would be a famine for twelve long years and trained the goats to eat the leaves of Erukku, a thorny bush. He mixed common millet with cow donge and built a shed and lived there with his goats.
