Sri Pydithalli Ammavari Sirimanotsavam

The stage is set for one of the biggest annual event of Srimanotsav of Sri Pydithalli Ammavaru in Vizianagaram. The entire town is agog with festive mood and all the junctions decorated with illumination. The temple and its premises are also decorated with flowers and electrical works. The endowment, revenue and police departments have made elaborate arrangements for the annual event which is expected to be attended by over one lakh devotees besides from Andhra region, Chhattisgarh, Orissa will participate in the event.

The event will start with the rituals performed by the temple ancestors of Raja Poosapati family members of Vizianagaram Samsthan. During this year, Poosapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju representing the Raja's family will perform the rituals. The Srimanotsav will start from the temple at 3pm and go through Three lamp junction, DCCB office and Fort before culminating at the temple. The Devastanam officials have made arrangements for special darsan, seeghra darsan and free darsan for the devotees. During this year, the VVIP darshan was restricted up to 10am. The Deputy Commissioner of Endowments department V Trinadha Rao said that drinking water, medical assistance have been arranged for the event. Special counters have also have opened for sale of prasadam and receive clothes to be donated by the devotees. The Vizianagaram Municipality had deployed hundreds of workers to look after hygienic condition while 1100 police personnel and 12 special patrolling teams have been deployed for the utsav. The APSRTC is operating 237 special services from seven depots of Vizianagaram and Srikakulam up to October 7. DIG of Police Visakhapatnam Range Sowmya Misra on Monday visited the town and reviewed the security arrangements with the district police officials. She asked the Endowments department officials to start the Sirimanotsavam at 3pm and conclude by 5pm itself.
