Transit of Rahu and Ketu during 2008-09

Unlike other planets objects, Rahu and Ketu travels in the reverse direction on the astrology charts spending about one and a half year in each of the rasi. This transit in the retrogression direction gives us an interesting insights about our future. Hence we take this occasion to examine the transit with respect to individual rasis. Please note that the results are only indicative and are subject to aggravation or atonement, consistent with the strength of running Maha dasa, good or bad of the individuals.

Rahu and Ketu made its entry into Makara and Karkataka Rasi on May 5, 2008. According to ancient texts, Rahu and Ketu are held beneficial while transiting the 3rd, 6th and 11th rasis from the natal moon of any individual. Except Mithuna, Karkataka, Dhannus and Makara, for which Rahu and Ketu occupy detrimental positions during the impeding transits, all other rasis get such a balancing proviso.

According to Vedic astrology, Rahu will give results similar to that of Sani and Ketu with that of Mars affect the individuals on mundane and spiritual levels respectively, as both are deemed as karmic planets. During th sojourn of Rahu and Ketu in Makara and Karkataka respectively during 2008 and 2009, Guru will be transiting in Makara Rasi between December 9, 2008 and May 1, 2009. Guru conjuncts Rahu on February 13, 2009.

Sani in Simha Rasi till September 9, 2009 will be in conjuction with Kuja on July 10, 2008. Kuja, conjunct with Ketu, will be in opposition to Rahu on June 15, 2008. As these two Nodes are always in opposition, they can give mutually contradictory results for transits for any rasi. The adverse results can be nullified by the beneficial results when are are subjected to check, their efforts whether it is good or bad can be modified.

Nodal changes from the May 5, 2008 show that Rahu is fully favorable for natives of Simha and Meena Rasi and also becomes reasonably beneficial to Mesha, Kanya, Tula and Kumba rasis.
