Panchangam is a Sanskrit word that representing five attributes (Remember Pancha denotes the number five; Anga means parts / elements / divisions). The Pancha-anga's are yoga, karana, guna, tidhi and, naksatra. The Panchangam is the official astrological calendar of practicing Hindus. It forecasts celestial phenomena such as solar eclipses as well as more mundane occurrences. The study of Panchangam helps in understanding Rasi phala and determining the impact of the signs of the zodiac on the individual.
